The candidates running for the 2nd Barnstable District seat offer a contrast in working for residents and businesses of their district.

Will Crocker has worked most of his career in town, as a teacher, as a news reporter, news director, as an elected town councilor, and now as our elected state representative.

One must know who to talk with to understand the issues, how to resolve them, and how to implement the needed changes. Will knows what to do, who to talk with, what needs to be done, when, and how to work with others to develop an action plan to get things done. He’s spent his career doing that - and wants to continue in this role representing his district because he cares about helping others.

I’ve heard the negative campaign ads from Will’s opponent and read negative editorials from his supporters that attack Will as a “hometown boy.” I didn’t know that growing up, working in, and educating students in one’s community is now considered a bad thing. But, then again, what is that aphorism about throwing stones?

Let’s keep Will in the Statehouse!
