Will Crocker Announces Kicks Off Campaign for 2nd Barnstable State Rep.

HYANNIS, MA— Over 200 supporters gathered Tuesday night at Alberto’s Ristorante to join Barnstable Town Councilor Will Crocker as he kicked off his campaign for State Representative for Barnstable and Yarmouth.

First Lady of the Commonwealth Lauren Baker headlined the event and introduced a special video from Governor Charlie Baker.  In the message, the Governor told attendees, “I think Will is definitely the best candidate running.  He’s got all the experience you’d want.  He’s head and shoulders above his competition on the opioid epidemic, on homelessness and on a whole bunch of issues regarding retirees and veterans on the Cape.  He’ll be a great addition to the team on Beacon Hill”

Will Crocker packed the restaurant thanks in part to support from Baker, as well as Sheriffs Jim Cummings, Tom Hodgson and Joe McDonald.  Cummings and Hodgson both rallied the crowd praising Crocker’s long-term commitment to education and unrelenting advocacy for the mid-Cape.

"There are many serious issues in Barnstable and Yarmouth. As one of Barnstable’s Town Councilors I understand those issues, such as the opioid and homelessness crises and what they mean to both our towns, for our quality of life and our local economies. Well it’s time to get them resolved.  I’m the person to do it.  That’s why I’m running!” Crocker announced to the crowd.

Crocker’s supporters for the campaign kickoff included an extensive list of local, county and state officials.  In addition to the three sheriffs, the host list included: Cape & Islands District Attorney Michael O’Keefe, Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz, State Senator Vinny deMacedo, Barnstable County Clerk of Courts Scott Nickerson, County Commissioner Leo Cakounes, Former County Treasurer/County Commissioner Mary LeClair, Barnstable Town Councilors: John Flores, John Norman, Eric Steinhilber, Phil Wallace, Former Barnstable Town Councilor Ann Canedy, Former Yarmouth Selectman Jim Saben and recently re-elected Republican State Committee Members Fran Manzelli of Barnstable and Barbara McCoy of Bourne.
