Rep. Crocker Adds Name To Letter Seeking School Funding
March 7, 2018
BOSTON – State Representative Will Crocker has signed on to a letter to the chairpersons of both the House and Senate Committees on Ways and Means.
He joins 81 of his legislative peers, from both parties and chambers, in expressing their concern about school districts being underfunded.
They are facing rising expenses every year just to maintain level services. These include energy, health care, contractual obligations and testing mandates.
The governor’s current budget actually decreases last year’s minimum per-pupal increment to just $20. The group is hoping to raise that figure to $100.
Crocker points out the increase’s importance. “We need to fully fund our schools. Educating our children should be a priority.”
